PBJ Designhouse receives German Design Award special 2021 for our FUSION table. The Fusion table is designed by the Danish cabinetmaker and owner of PBJ Designhouse Morten Svendsen.
Fifty Years Anniversary
In 2018 we celebrate 50 years of hard work and look forward to new adventures in the future.
Production in Poland
In 2011 Morten decided to move the production and now we produce everything in our own factory in Poland. We are still a 100% Danish owned family company, and our headquarters with sales, administration, design and product development remains at the place where it all started. Our designs are made by Danish designers and architects.
The dining collection consists of tables, chairs and sideboards and has been a consistent part of PBJ furniture since 2005.
Storaging has been part of the collection since 2002 and we have been creating solutions that please the eye.
Since 2000 we’ve created coffee tables in a contemporary modern design.
Morten buys the company
Designer Morten Svendsen bought the company in 1996 and continued to sell mostly to USA throug many years.
Beds and chest of drawers were part of our collection in the 90’s. Frames of solid wood were always essential to the design.
As home entertainmaint evolved so did our furniture. In 1989 the first TV stand was created.
In 1984 the first hall furniture was created. It unified functionality with a simple design.
When business was small, so was our furniture. Tray tables were added to the furniture collection. The tray table with integrated cellarate became highly popular.
Pedestals and racks
Initially PBJ created pedestals and racks, ready to assemble. Flat packed furniture was a forward moving industry, back then it was known as cash and carry furniture.
PBJ was founded
PBJ was founded in 1968 by Per Buhl Jørgensen.
The production started in Spøttrup, a small town in the western part of Denmark.
