FIFTY EARNS ANOTHER AWARD
PBJ DESIGNHOUSE RECEIVE ONE MORE INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARD FOR BEAUTIFUL SHAPES AND GOOD CRAFTSMANSHIP
Award winning design. The furniture series, Fifty, from PBJ Designhouse has been awarded the prestigious design award German Design Award 2019 and has now recently been awarded the ICONICS AWARD which the company will receive at a ceremony in January 2020.
PBJ Designhouse celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2018 with the launch of the furniture series, Fifty, which unites Danish design and decades of craft traditions. The series has attracted international attention and has now been rewarded with the coveted German Design Award Special Mention 2019. Since 1968, PBJ Designhouse in Spøttrup near Skive in Denmark has had the tradition of bringing furniture designers and carpenters together. It has resulted in a large number of beautiful and functional furniture, all of which are rounded by Scandinavian design tradition and the love for clean lines. Therefore, when the company celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018, it was quite natural to mark it with a new furniture series. The series is named Fifty and has clear references to Danish furniture design in the happy sixties. These are qualities that have got the jury behind the coveted German Design Award to award PBJ Designhouse the special Excellent Product Design. The jury emphasizes that this is a fantastic series with an appealing, modern interpretation of retro design. The series is characterized by its attention to detail and finesse, which are features rarely seen today.
Fifty consists of dining tables, sideboards and highboards of various sizes. The dining tables are equipped with two hidden butterfly extension leaves - one at each end - to accommodate eight to ten people. Fifty is available in light oak, walnut and oiled oak.
