PBJ DESIGNHOUSE RECEIVES ONE MORE INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARD FOR BEAUTIFUL SHAPES AND GOOD CRAFTSMANSHIP

Award winning design. The furniture series, Fifty, from PBJ Designhouse which earlier this year was awarded the prestigious German Design Award 2019 has now been awarded the ICONICS AWARD which the company will receive at a ceremony in January 2020.

The Danish PBJ Designhouse celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2018 with the launch of the furniture series, Fifty, which unites Danish design and decades of craft traditions. Since 1968, PBJ Designhouse has had the tradition of bringing furniture designers and certified cabinetmakers together. It has resulted in a large number of beautiful and functional furniture, all of which are rounded by Scandinavian design tradition and the love for clean lines.

When the company celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018, it was quite natural to mark it with a new furniture series. The series is named Fifty and has clear references to Danish furniture design in the happy sixties. It has an appealing, modern interpretation of retro design. The series is characterized by its attention to detail and finesse, which are features rarely seen today. These are qualities that have got the juries behind the coveted Design Awards to award PBJ to decide that Fifty was the winner twice within a year.

Fifty consists of dining tables, sideboards and highboards of various sizes. The dining tables are equipped with two hidden butterfly extension leaves - one at each end - to accommodate eight to sixteen people. Fifty is available in light oak, walnut and oiled oak.

The Fifty series is designed by Morten Svendsen, a certified cabinetmaker and designer, who is also the owner and CEO of PBJ Designhouse.
